We serve children from ages 0 months through the 8th grade. Here at Sunrise Montessori education is not just a passage of knowledge nor rote memory. We believe in developing your childs thinking skills teaching your child how to learn develop your childs interests in the world which we live through practical learning experiences. We teach our children to be compassionate responsible respectful and self-motivated.Our school was founded in 1988 as a private incorporated non-sectarian school. We have been operating in the city of Markham right from the start. In the course of its history SMS has been served by highly experienced classroom directress.SMS has attained several awards such as:The Best Private School in the York Region by Readers Choice in The Sun.One of the Best Montessori Schools in the GTA by City Parent Readers Selection Awards.One of the few Montessori schools in GTA to offer the French Immersion program.Sunrise Montessori School aims to create the most nurturing and supportive environment for all our students so each student has the opportunity to experience academic and personal success.
